Cody McIntyre

Cody McIntyre, 17, is a student at CIVA Charter Academy in Colorado Springs where he took film classes and short horror films.  At 13, Cody and his girlfriend Natalie accidentally got pregnant and gave birth to their daughter, Krista.  After much deliberation they chose to give her up for adoption.  Cody’s film FROM CLOSED TO OPEN recounts their story, Natalie’s own closed adoption story and the adoption story of one of Krista’s adoptive parents, Derek.  Through three personal perspectives we understand the differences between closed and open adoptions and come to appreciate as Natalie says, “how precious open adoption systems can be .”
