Christine Sandoval

Christine Sandoval, 18, recently graduated from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs. Christine came to YDA in her seventh month of pregnancy and decided to turn the cameras on her own family to make a film about what it means to be a teen mom. By intimately documenting her own pregnancy and the views of her boyfriend and mother (once a teen parent herself), Christine puts a human face on the issues around teen pregnancy and counters the often one-dimensional stereotypes that exist in society. In July, 2016, just at the conclusion of YDA, Christine gave birth to her son and continues to capture moments in the first year of being a mom.
