YDA Student Wins 2015 Arts Council “Young Filmmakers Award”

Antreise Lacey, a Widefield High School senior, won the top youth award at the 2015 Pikes Peak Arts Council, known as the Young Filmmakers Spielberg in the Making Award.  Antreise’s film SHADE examines how the representations of light and dark skinned African American girls and women play into damaging and destructive stereotypes.

Antreise was honored in October at the PPAC’s annual awards gala at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.  This is the second year in a row that a YDA film graduate has won this honor.
